Jeff Parker was an integral figure in Chicago’s experimental music scene throughout the 90s and early 2000s. As a member of the genre agnostic musical outfits Tortoise and Isotope 217° he came to be known as a versatile and innovative multi-instrumentalist. Parker moved to the west coast in 2013 and has since become a catalytic figure in Los Angeles, where he’s been cultivating a vibrant improvisational music scene for the past decade.

Community has always been at the heart of Jeff Parker’s music. Having an international audience meant that we needed to address data collection and privacy. We built the site from the ground up, without intermediary code or scripts. This allowed us to opt every site visitor out automatically, no cookie banner required. Regardless of a visitors location, no personal data is collected and the site is cookie free by default.
Over the course of his career, Parker has been incomparably prolific. His website was designed to become an authoritative archive of his output and activities, while offering a space for the intellectual and historical background that doesn’t often fit into the rapid pace of social media. Parker has worked with an extensive number of artists and collaborators. Keeping track of his album releases and appearances has been simplified by a custom built interface for his discography on the back-end which can be viewed as a grid of album covers or a simplified list on the front-end.
Parker’s audience can listen to original scores that Parker composed for films and other media, check out his recent press and see his upcoming tour dates. Nettewerk built a custom integration to connect the website with Bandsintown’s API so his tour dates blend in with his site design and update automatically without a third-party embed.
Parker has long understood the importance of independence. Having a website where he can tell his story on his terms enables him to show his audience a more personal perspective of his work while offering him a place to keep track of what he’s done in an organized and way.
